A cool photo prop frame

My husband made me the coolest picture frame EVER!

I saw this picture frame on pinterest
and really wanted one for my
photo shoots!

When my husband saw the picture frame from pinterest, he was on a mission to make one for me.  Wow...I have the coolest husband in the world.  Not only did he make me a photo frame, he made it so the frame would come apart and be placed into a slim bag for easy carrying and storage.  The frame is assembled in a jiffy at the corners with nuts and bolts.
Simple! How cool is that?
When I pull the pieces of the frame out of the bag at a photo-shoot,  and assemble my frame, ohhhhh, my husband gets bragging rites! and rightfully so! When I hold this frame up all assembled and ready to use, my clients are amazed and are ready and willing to use this baby in a photo-shoot! I have the funnest photo-shoots using this frame~
I'm such a lucky girl~

A new design

I love rouching on clothing so I decided to try a new design on my aprons.
Instead of sewing ruffles down the front of the apron bib, I put rouching instead.
It's been a huge hit on pinterest!
My daughter in law already called this apron for her birthday~

The aprons I make and sell always come with a darling flower pin.
I like how it ties the look together and adds a feminine charm.

This apron just may be a best seller

I love this Hexie quilt

Giant Hexie Quilt pattern

I saw this baby quilt pattern on Pinterest and fell in love with it.  I love the colors, so non baby traditional but it works great for baby!

Here is the link for the Giant Hexie pattern

My Niece  asked me to make her a baby quilt for her son's bedroom, so I told her to check out my pinterest Quilt board and she chose this Hexie pattern.  I was excited, I had just posted it and was wanting to make a quilt with it.   So I had her go to Joanns fabrics to choose her fabric and colors to her liking.  Here are the colors she chose. I'm glad she picked, I would not have chose the colors and patterns for a baby quilt she sent me. I so enjoy the creative tastes of the young women these days.  I love the various patterns in the fabric and the colors are spectacular together! I thought she did a good job don't you think?

I got all my supplies together and started studying the instructions.  I then layed out the cut pieces randomly on my table, the quilt started to come together in a different way that I thought. So easy!  After laying out the pieces , I then was prepared to sew them together into strips. I then layed the strips together, and in no time I had a  sewn  quilt top. I could hardly wait to get the batting and backing prepared so I could finish the quilt.  After I got quilt top, batting and backing perfectly sandwiched together I decided to had quilt instead of machine quilt.  That actually went quicker that I expected.  I though it added to the nice home made touch.

Here is the finished Quilt quilt.  I really like it! I had enough small scraps I used them to make a banner for the baby's room.  The quilt and banner will be the accent to the rest of the baby's decorated room.   So exciting!

Here is the dolly boy  laying on his quilt, isn't he the cutest?

Creating things with my hands is so gratifying to me, it's a stress buster that's for sure.

The Bachelor Sean wore my apron

The Bachelor "Sean" wore my homemade apron on the show

Right here is the very apron Sean wore on the Bachelor show

My sister got me hooked on this seasons "Bachelor" while I was visiting her in Feb.  In the episode airing on Feb. 18,2013, which was the"hometown visits" episode and it was Seans turn to visit Catherine in Seattle Washington. During the family visit Catherine's Mom invited Sean to come cook  in the kitchen with her. As I was watching I all of the sudden noticed Sean wearing an apron...and it looked familiar! I took a double take and saw the apron he wore in the segment was an apron I made and sold from Etsy. I did a triple take and and a few more takes and yup it was confirmed. IT"S AN APRON I MADE! I checked my history on Etsy and sure enough  I sold an apron to someone in Seattle Washington! This is exciting!!
Here are some photos I took while watching the episode on my computer... not the best photos but I couldn't find any stills and this will make you a believer.

Sean wearing the apron and the ladies are impressed!

Wow, I could hardly go to sleep that night thinking and apron I have sewn in my home with my own two hands is famous!
...and I'm still giggeling!!

breast cancer awareness apron

For the month of October I decided to  make an apron for Breast Cancer awareness month
I wanted to incorporate the pink ribbon, and at JoAnn fabrics I found this
delightful fabric and I made the flower pin with it backed with grey fabric. I like it

My grand daughter Mckenzie who is 11 helped me pick out the pink print fabric.  The pink fabric was slim pickin's in the fabric stores so I came up with this grey and pink scalloped pattern.

I thought  all month about who I would like to give this apron too. I found her~ I met this lady who had breast cancer and couragiously battled  2 different kinds of cancer one different type in each breast.  She had a double masectomy and later decided to have her uterus removed for precaution.  Her treatments were complicated as she needed different medication for each kind of cancer.  I know that every women with breast cancer are so very courageous and stalwart, you have to be to survive.  The women of breast cancer/cancer are awesomely strong and set a good example for me. I watch and learn! My hat is off to you ladies that battle cancer and my arms are wrapped around you with love~

I love aprons

I had the funnest request.  A wonderful artist saw my homemade aprons on Etsy and she asked if I would make her an apron out of natural fabric and a natural color. I told her I would, and she purchased this beauty!
I shopped for the perfect fabric and found it at Joann Fabrics.  The fabric has a beautiful weave which resembles a painters pallete. The fabric is a combination of cotton/linen.  The artist paints with beautiful colors and her splashes of various paint colors will be the design that will adrom her apron.  What a decidant idea!

Linda told me she would take a photo of the painted apron for me to see, I can't wait!

I even made the flower A La natural , it's beautiful
I love this idea of her creativity

Making a HOME during a house re-model

link for Rag Wreath tutorial

My daughter-in-law Mindy has the most delicious decoration in her home.  She just has a natural nak for color, style and composition of her decor.
Mindy and her husband Tony are doing a home remodel on the house they bought a few years ago.  The whole house was gutted and they have been starting from scratch. You would never know by the photos she took of her decorating that to the right and left are unfinished walls.  This woman has figured out how to make her house a home during the construction of their home.
I love learning from her and getting her input on what to do in my home.
Mindy is incredable!!!
